No — page views and events that happen after window.load (the vast majority) are still tracked. Very fast page exits (<0.5s) may not be captured, but these contribute minimal actionable data.

I use Google Tag Manager — does that change the approach?+

Is this the same as adding async/defer to the script tag?+
